Pompom headband!

Hi there!

What's up? It's December already and almost Christmas, busy and exciting times for most of the people. Although in my case it's going to be busier that exciting, I'll try to carry on with my projects and keep in touch through my posts. 

Lately I've been drawing more than sewing. Since I bought a book about geometric patterns I've been practising my pattern skills not only on paper but digitally, playing with Adobe Illustrator.  As the new year is coming I though it could be a good idea to prepare a patterned calendar for 2017 and I started working on it already. The calendar will include 12 different patterns, one for each month of the year. I am in the middle of that, once I have it printed I'll post it here. In the meanwhile I dedicate time to make little things like this colourful headband with yarn pompoms. I love it. I've always seen headbands with flowers but I really think that is funnier with pompoms.

Hand embroidered t-shirt

Hello!! 

Saturday afternoon and here I am writing a new post. I am on my last days of holidays, I'll be back to work soon so I am trying to get as much things done as I can. This pictures you can see are from a T-shirt I prepared for my friend's birthday. Flower and letters are hand embroidered. I used polka dot patterned fabric for the middle of the flower as well.

Illustrated cards

Hello there!

 As you know I sew, I draw and sometimes I even mix both skills. This is my last illustration project, ten illustrated cards hand-drawn. Made as the perfect gift for the main moments and events in life, this cards are full of cute characters such as living sweets, fast food and CATS, shown with a touch of irony, insolence and sweetness. Some of this illustrations have influence and are inspired by the japanise kawaii style. I made a collection of ten cards with watercolor technique and lines defined with black pen.  In a future I will try to carry on drawing more cards with new topics and styles.

I hope you like them, I really enjoyed making this project.

Polka dots skirt

 

Hello!

As I told you in the last post, I've been taking some pictures of the clothes I do. The skirt you can see in the picture is one I did months ago. A very easy pattern to make this gathered skirt with waistband and buttons. The polka dots pattern of the fabric and the design of the skirt give it a vintage look.

Little mouse!

Good afternoon guys! 

Lately, I've tried to post regularly but... there's always so many things in the middle that stop me from achieving this goal. Anyway, here I am after ages, back again to show you my stuff.  I am on holidays now so I had plenty of time to finish some of the things I had half done. This is the last toy I made, it is a little mouse knitted with purple and orange yarn. The legs are made with pink felt and the eyes and nose with white clay.

As you can see in the picture that is the result of such a mixture of materials.

I had some time to carry on taking pictures of my clothes. That ones I think they will come soon. And I could get new inspiration from places I've visited and little presents I've made to myself. I went back to London again during my days off and the next stop has been TATE art galleries. The museum is an amazing place where you can see the ideas and creations of the most important modern artists, so inspirational. What is more, I got some books from there, which are going to be helpful for new projects. You will see...

Embroidered letters

Good morning!! 

I am back again with a new handmade embroidery. With this one I tried embroidered letters within a patterned fabric background. I love the results. I could give different uses to pieces like that. You can customize clothes or accessories like bags and you can put it in a frame and hang it somewhere in your hous as well. 

What about the sentence? It might sound stupid but it is a sentence I really like from the movie "Alice in Wonderland". There's so many crazy things in that movie that inspire me in different ways.

Cool eyed monsters!

 

Hi!!

Finally I am here again. It's been weeks since my last post but that doesn't mean I haven't done anything new. On the contrary I've been doing many things. I've been drawing, knitting, sewing.... the thing is I've been between busy and lazy to take pictures and all that.

Anyway, this is another knitted toy I've finished. Now I am trying to make new creatures mixing different materials as felt and ceramic. As you can see the eyes of the monster are ceramic made. This nice pieces are made by my mother in law which is a great ceramics artist. She sent me a full box of ceramic buttons made in different colours, so my monsters now will have beautiful eyes.

Well I still have many things to show you, I hope to get nice pitures soon.

Trying tie dye ^^

Hello! I've been out the last week but I'm back to show you one of the last embroideries I've made. This work includes both dyeing and embroidery. I made it as a gift for my sister's birthday.

As you can see the fabric has been decorated with a tie dye pattern, in this case I made it with bleach but you can also use dye colours for fabric. Once the dyeing was done I sewed the alien.

Little rabbit

Hello!

This last week I've been knitting a lot and now I have one friend for my elephant. This is my second toy and I think I will carry on doing different designs. I made this rabbit as a gift for my little cousin for her birthday. You can also try to make your own designs and you only need to know the basic skills to knit.

Vase with flowers
